About Me by Me

I have written to and way over 30 blogs (web logs). I have written several books – fictional and non-fictional. Some of my work appears in several anthologies of poetry. I have been an ‘artist in residence’ and fingerprinted-safe for children to be around, according to the state of NY. I have taught fourth graders to write poetry and helped then to publish and print their own hardbound books. I have had a byline in a newspaper called – ‘The ‘Fiber Doctor’ and am considered an expert in a court of law – in the field of textile, fabric, fiber cleaning, maintenance and restoration. I have letters from and recognition of three former presidents and a state governor. I am a former member of the press, an ordained clergyman and a former chef. In working on a cookbook, I also wrote over 100 original bar drinks. I have worked with my hands on the farm and in construction. I have worked in the Insurance, Education and Medical sectors. I am a brother, a father, a husband, an uncle, a cousin, a grandfather and a friend. I believe I have a plethora (a lot), of experience and I am fraught (full), of words and connections to make a difference in your life, no matter what your project is. Clink on as many links that you like and let’s connect on Zoom and discuss your project.

In 1998, I looked for some version of an online advent calendar. There were none to be found so from 1998 to 2012 (15 years), I did my own. It went out to people all over the world and I personally had over 2,000 contacts I sent notices to. this included Richard Sellmer Verlag of Germany, one of the first (still making), paper card-stock Advent Calendars. We three kidlit's' as our grandmother called us, had many of the same designs they still make. I was in close contact with Richard, an heir and family member that ran the business.

In 2007 our theme was 'Advent of Dreams for the Holidays.' All pictures, photographs and sentiments reflected dreams and imagination. The daily calendar page was from a photograph of Neuschwanstein [pronouced: Noy + swan + stine], in Germany. Neuschwanstein is the ultimate dream come true; the epitome of a fairytale and a jigsaw puzzle of a castle. Perched on top of a mountain in the Bavarian Alps, this awe inspiring dream work of imagination is the third palace built by Ludwig II, in the nineteenth century. I am not alone in my opinion here, as the late Walt Disney of the 20th century, was inspired by and  patterned his ‘Magic Kingdom’ and ‘Cinderella’s Castle, after the blueprint of Neuschwanstein. For this online Advent calendar, instead of opening windows, each day's mouse click, would turn on lights inside the castle.

The following year, Richard Sellmer Verlag of Germany, introduced ‘Neuschwanstein’ #324, in 2008.

In the 1990's, there were many search engines, each trying to compete with all the others or dominate. Only three, Google, Yahoo and what is now known as Bing, survived. One such company was called Excite.

Excite was more than search, but a web portal and one of the first to offer free email. It's CEO was George Bell and in 1999, he refused to buy Backrub, which was Google, before the name change. The offer was $750,000.00 plus 1% stock in Excite, but they had to use what was to be, Google software.

Now the only reason I mention this is because at one-time, I had George Bell's personal email address. The reason I did was to send him and about 100 other people, a little image I made of a full Champaign glass. George and the others and myself would attend the first online wedding of a couple using CGI (computer graphic interface). I met my wife on this same type of CGI chat. But whether this wedding was technically legal or not, it took place. Everyone in attendance had a small avatar to represent them and the couple were in the center. At the precise time, everyone swapped their little avatar for the full Champaign glass I had made and we toasted the couple after they made their vows.

These are just a couple of examples how email campaigns can produce results, even far beyond expectations.

If you are interested in developing an email program or possibly purchasing my content for online Advent calendars or having me consult with you, let's discuss it on Zoom. Shoot me an email and we will work out a time to meet and I will send you my Zoom link.
